Snow is South Texas?!?

One of the "perks" of living in South Texas is having nice, mild winters. This year has been anything but. Today it is 37 degrees and yes, it snowed. CRAZY It didn't snow much, only some furries for about 20 min. It didn't stick to the ground but the kids got to see it and Olivia tried to catch some snow flakes on her tongue. The really crazy part is all of the people predicting school closures. For a small flurry, REALLY! I think I am ready for spring.

Happy Birthday Mark

Mark is now 35 years old!! Though Olivia keeps saying that he is 65 years old, HEE HEE. We had a very low key party. We were on our way to Mr. Gatti's when Luke's pediatrician called to inform us that the strep test he had sent out two days ago came back positive. He seemed fine but we didn't want to spread it too far. So we stayed home and had pizza and yellow cake with chocolate icing. Mark's favorite.

After repeated requests from Mark for 2 years I finally splurged and bought him a Wii. I may regret this one day, but for now, he and Luke are having a great time.

Olivia's First Pair of Tap Shoes

Olivia is all girl from her head to her toes. She has sat, patiently, through Luke's soccer practices and games and his karate lessons. She informed me that it was her turn and she wanted to do gymnastics and ballet. I enrolled her in a combo dance class that does tap, ballet and tumbling. She LOVES it. She loves wearing her leotard, she loves having her hair put up into pony tails (today she wanted two, one on each side), and she loves having something special just for her. She spends all week asking me when dance class is.

I loved my dance classes growing up and I have to confess that it took a large amount of will power not to buy a pair of tap shoes for me too. This is Olivia with her teacher Ms. Tiffani.
